About Loren's Art
Loren Frame is a Canadian-born emerging artist based in Sligo, Ireland, currently completing her Honours Bachelor of Fine Art at ATU. Her work has been exhibited in galleries and collected privately, and she has received multiple scholarships for artistic achievement.
Loren is currently exploring themes of tension and introspection, often influenced by personal experience. Working mainly with ink and acrylic, she blends portraiture, abstraction, and colour to express inner conflict and the healing process. Her past works have covered a wide range of themes, including social standing, reflection, and inner calm. As her life evolves, so does her artistic practice.
In her work, she uses negative space intentionally—sometimes expansively, sometimes sparingly. Regardless of how much is used, she creates a sense of flow that guides the viewer’s eye around the piece, highlighting both the overall composition and its finer details. In her figurative work, she focuses on facial expressions and distorted body shapes to convey strong, often uncomfortable emotions, creating a sense of tension and movement.
Loren strives to make art that invites people to slow down and truly look—not only at the work itself, but at the emotions it stirs. Through her visual language, she gives form to feelings that are difficult to articulate, creating a space where discomfort can be seen, felt, and understood.
